Who are we?

The Episcopal Church is founded upon the belief that Jesus Christ is Lord. It seeks to uphold and spread the faith of Christ's one, holy, catholic, and apostolic church. Like all Christian churches, it has acquired a distinctive character over the years. It is part of the worldwide Anglican communion, a fellowship of churches in communion with the Church of England who worship according to some authorized version of the Book of Common Praver. Anglicans (Americans are called Episcopalians) are Christians whose identity is rooted primarily in their worship. The identity of the Episcopal Church, therefore, is most clearly seen in its worship, its proclamation of the Gospel, and its promotion of justice, peace and love.

In the Episcopal Church we celebrate the good news of God's love in Jesus Christ with great joy. And all are welcome. To learn what it means to be an Episcopalian, we invite you to join us in our worship and our service. Come and experience the Risen Lord in the proclamation of the Word, the celebration of the sacraments, the fellowship of believers, and the service of those in need. Come to see Jesus, come to know Jesus, come to serve Jesus.
